Consumption and Control: The Art of Chew

I curated an exhibition focused on Chew, showcasing the work of comic artist and illustrator Rob Guillory. The exhibition reframed Chew as a study in visual storytelling, satire, and character-driven worldbuilding, highlighting Guillory’s use of exaggeration, repetition, and narrative compression to explore themes of power, consumption, and identity. By isolating panels, process work, and finished illustrations, the show positioned comic art within a gallery context, emphasizing craft, composition, and storytelling as fine-art practices.
